BOSTON, MA - Zego, the legendary innovator of futsal teaching, is coming to Boston to lead the Northeast Futsal Association International Special Topics Coaching Course on Thursday and Friday, February 21 & 22, 2019.

Being held at Plymouth Sports Complex in Plymouth, MA, from 5:30 to 8:30 pm on both evenings, the event is open to any coaches or club directors.

The International Special Topics Coaching Course is part of the Northeast Futsal Festival (northeastfutsalfest.com), a partnership event between Northeast Futsal Association and Global Premier Soccer that provides the best futsal experience in the region.

Zego will also be a lead instructor for the GPS/Northeast Futsal February Vacation Camp, being held February 18 to 21 in Sudbury, MA and Waltham, MA. (gpsvacationprograms.com/februarycamps)

Zego, who is currently the Director of Coaching at Cadence Soccer and Futsal Club in Chicago, IL, was born in Sao Paulo, Brazil. He has over 40 years of experience in training kids, has been coaching young & professional players such as the best futsal player in the world, Ricardinho. 

Zego is truly an extraordinary futsal coach and player and is uniquely qualified to lead futsal development in any country.  He has earned almost every accolade possible in the sport.  As a player, Zego won three South American championships, two Brazilian championships, and four Sao Paulo state championships.  He later became a celebrated coach, leading some of the best teams in the world to national and international championships, including G.R. Citrosuco and A.A. Fazenda Itamarti in Brazil and Jaen FS and Caja Castilla La Mancha in Spain.  

Zego is especially famous for his invention, in 1981, of the “4-0” formation, which revolutionized the game and is now utilized by all the top teams in the world, including FC Barcelona, Inter Movi-Star, and the National Futsal Teams of Brazil, Spain, Argentina, Portugal, Russia, and USA.  

In addition to the knowledge provided by Zego, course participants will also earn the Northeast Futsal Association International Special Topics Coaching Diploma. In 2018, NORTHEFUTSAL welcomed United Futsal Association President Rob Andrews and FC Barcelona Futsal Technical Director Jordi Torras for a Special Topics Coaching Education Course in Boston.
